No context and no critical thinking. Just regurgitate. That's worse than Rote

They often copy the text of their questions and paste it into the answer field, assuming it’s likely to contain the relevant keywords. One told me they used the trick all throughout last semester and received full credit “pretty much every time.”

A computer can't evaluate the subjective correctness of an answer like that, it has to look for keywords. Oh well...

Wait a minute. Teachers make more, on average, than most workers in my area. They need to use their own damn eyeballs. Fuck using an immature AI to grade, based on keywords. That is such bullshit, it's amazing.

I agree, but I bet this system was some BE-AFRAID reaction from the school board, along with some healthy kickbacks from the vendor. The teachers probably had little input into the process.

Not saying it's right or anything, just playing devil's advocate.
