I guess the line between casual rioters and full blown terrorists has to be firmly crossed for DOJ and DHS to engage the full force of the judicial and military. I mean once the line is crossed for good, once a particular group lands on the terrorist list... It's an entire different ballgame, and it can extend beyond america eventually if it goes from domestic terrorism to international terrorism. Both ways, the cases are treated by different agencies with different methods and budgets and prerogatives, you're no longer into the realm of relatively "minor offenses", it's terrorism, domestic terrorism, but still terrorism. We're potentially talking decades/life being bars and eventually death row and shit for the worst offenders, as penalty if convicted. It's potentially above organized crime lol. On the crime scale, a terrorist is sort of halfway between child rapist and genocidal mass murderer war criminal, and beyond it's the sun

Thing is, they don't engage let alone massively engage into tarrant/breivik types of actions... Sure you have intimidation, arson, assaults, destruction of private property, trespassing, and sometimes someone gets killed.... But we're not into the typical public places and building bombings alqaeda style, with manifesto and shit. We aren't there with those types and I suspect they aren't going to go there, they are toeing the line. They play a provocative game for the most part, looking for an excuse to parade as martyrs in the end, forcing police to react, and sometimes over react and then play the victim card, they are assholes

Now I'm not saying they aren't dangerously stupid, and I'm also not saying they are completely stupid... There's an overton window, about what they do, and they make sure to stay in that scope of action, don't forget who's sponsoring them, who's bailing them out, it doesn't come without conditions
