Yeah... Why not

I mean, I don't see TV rendered boring and useless as a bad news in itself, rather the contrary

I would be emperor/dictator/sovereign, I would allow 3 types of programs on TV, and nothing else

1) Parliament/congress/senate, 24/7, it's only that, you watch or you don't, and that's channel number one, and it's your taxes at work you can watch who said what and who's sleeping during hearings. And if you can't watch during the day because you're at work or whatever, there's a replay at night, you record it or you don't it's up to you.

2) The school channel. It's courses given by professors, like a guy sitting next to a chalk board talking about stuffs, like math, geometry, grammar, history, civics, physics, programming, finance, commerce, law, history, you name it. So if you dropped out of college and want to restart again, or want to home school your kids for cheap you can, it's there, there's a minimum, free education. You record or you don't, you do the exercises or you don't. Same deal, 24/7

3) Wild life channel. It's the birds and nature. That's it. It's relaxing and instructive, if you don't like it you can go on poal, or try both at the same time

Any of those can be interrupted at any time by .gov for .gov message, like important stuffs, messages of the commander in chief and all that

For the rest you go over the intarwebs and you help yourself.

...

That's right I just murdered the TV as we know it, and it's fine
