For false reporting leading to man slaughter, the charge should be murder. I mean that's exactly like swatting ending with someone getting killed, police is turned accessory to murder essentially Also, and I can't really blame the cop for that, the guy got shot 3 times in a row while he was obviously surrounding and kneeling down... At the same time raising a gun and firing from that position takes virtually no time, it can be done in a split second, so I can't totally blame the cop for his reaction while I definitely believe it was misguided this time, obviously And as @ANunnyMusk stated, the guy should have asked for identification before opening the door, while not standing right behind it ideally, because bullets tend to go through those shitty doors quite easily on top of being a very predictable spot to stand on. And while there's no law against that, he definitely shouldn't have walked outside just like that with a gun in his hand. You live in a country where there's a gun under every rock and cops have to deal with that fact, act accordingly, better be safe than sorry
