Well and what if that was the right decision?

>Eight minority corrections officers file discrimination charges in Minneapolis after they were barred from guarding Derek Chauvin because their race made them a ‘liability’ around the cop – leaving some staffers in tears and others ready to quit

...

Imagine the situation, inverted

A racist black cop kills a white repeat offender junkie in a botched police arrest

Racist black cop goes to jail awaiting trial

And the black superintendent decides that it's unwise to let white officers guard the racist black (ex) cop

...

And then the white officers suddenly threaten to quit, while some collapse in tears and shit, they go as far as pulling a discrimination lawsuit, total drama because? They can't guard that particular guy?

...

Hm

Well maybe they are too emotionally implicated here, maybe they lack the necessary emotional detachment to properly do the job, just maybe

Jesus christ, get a fucking grip, prison system revolves entirely around racial/ethnic segregation, since decades and for good reasons, and all of a sudden the minorities lose their shit over this decision? Why?

Maybe just maybe there's more to that story, maybe the superintendent had reasons to believe some of his guards weren't that racially neutral... And maybe some took offense over this, for some reason, maybe there's a world of shit going on behind that story and that's the drop that makes the vase overflow one way or the other
