Tim's a former progressive who is still evolving. He is not against people owning guns, and has said many times that he's absolutely for it. (He got a bit more vocal about it after some stalker came to his house at three in the morning about a year ago.)
Has he said they were wrong to grab their guns? Sure. However, he is not entirely wrong. The two guys overreacted and are (and should be) criminally liable. I believe what he's getting at is that they shouldn't have taken it on themselves to confront the guy at all, and left it to the police.

I was not defending the specific thing that Tim said, I was pointing out that his position was not what you characterized it as, then pointing out that one thing he said could easily be seen as a holdover from his earlier beliefs. That doesn't mean I agree with it, but it's hardly a gun-grabber stance, even if it does show that he hasn't fully integrated his current beliefs.

I could take you a lot more seriously if you didn't evidence such crude collectivist thinking. The MSM is dying, but the reasons for it dying have nothing to do with JOOOOOOOOOOOOS, and everything to do with bad ideas, and human nature. The latter of which applies to people with white skin just as much as to everybody else.
