This is happening at major medical institutions across the US. Even those under university umbrellas. All mainly due to cutting "elective" services.
Yep. My cousin is a nurse. She said she's "lucky" to be an ER nurse because the "non-essential" medical staff is having their hours cut. Nurses, anesthesiologists, etc.
It's absolutely nuts. My sister is in the same boat. Lucky to be working. Almost overnight the US got every negative aspect of socialized healthcare. They've been telling people suffering from excruciating pain that their relief from is considered nonessential. Our Governor was even appalled by what has been getting brushed aside, even though they were his orders.
I had knee surgery cancelled because it was non-essential. Just a meniscus tear - no big thing. Not like the tear is getting progressively worse while we delay...
