I had knee surgery cancelled because it was non-essential. Just a meniscus tear - no big thing. Not like the tear is getting progressively worse while we delay...
Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you can get in and that sorted out asap after things open up where you're at.
Eventually we will, and thanks.
How'd you tear it?
It's an existing tear. This would be the second time they've removed a piece.
I lived a fun, exciting life and wore out much of my body doing so. Martial arts, mountain bike racing, commercial construction...
what kind of martial arts?
I had arthroscopic surgery for the same issue. When the tear folded over, it felt like a knife was shoved into my knee. I watched the video of the surgery a few times. The tear looked like someone had pulled on a cotton ball. They used a very tiny "grinder" to shave off the torn part and fluffy stuff. Saline solution washed it away. I felt like new the next day and walked normally again. I really hope you can get this done soon.
Yeah, the video is awesome isn't it? I thought the surgical tool looked more like a mini tunnel boring machine.
Not to worry, I've had a few of these surgeries before, including a TKR on the other knee.
Thanks for the well-wishes!
