Unless you keep rubbing them with vaseline.

In that case, vaseline acts as a protective coating, not a lubricant, until you try to turn the knob.

A better way is to use thin stainless wires stretched across areas. Put them at ankle level so they trip on one and fall face-first into another. Both are electrified. That way you can remove the wires and say "I don't know how that happened."
