In most cases it's not clear, and the medical industry is using the coronavirus as a carte blanche to fill out death certificates. Died of a heart attack but had Covid-19 in your blood? Doesn't matter that your 20 a day Big Mac habit turned your arteries into a grease trap, you died of coronavirus.
