Well, Jim, the current owner of 8k*n (formerly 8ch*n) is an asshole. He essentially stole 8ch*n from brennan by using trickery, and before that, he did other fuckery with 2ch. At the same time, it was a blessing for the community (of 8ch*n) as brennan was a lousy admin and without Jim, it would've been closed early on.
Brennan was naive, which is why he lost 8ch*n in the first place. Eventually, he decided to convert to christianity and became a massive cuck, saying that 8ch*n had to be shutdown, especially because of /pol/. When cloudflare decided to drop 8ch*n after a shooter supposedly shared his manifesto there (which wasn't him btw), brennan decided to attack the site by notifying the service providers of how evil the site was, the very same kind of attack SJW are using to censor a site they don't control. For example, he was the one responsible for Voxality dropping bitmitigate, the cloudflare replacement 8ch*n wanted to use, hurting two companies at the same time.

It's some serious irony and schadenfreude mixed though. When Hotwheels started 8chan he defended free speech, cashed in sold the site, took a job as the sites developer.. A couple "happening" plotters make the equivalent of blogposts before some attacks, pretty much giving clues as to what they're going to do which is helpful to law enforcement and prosecutors funny enough. Clues that may lead to prevention, evidence that ensures conviction... a literal win win. Well anyways, Hotwheels joins a local church finds Jesus and comes to the conclusion free speech is the reason these bad things happened and lobbies tirelessly to get 8chan shut down.
Yes... the reason the guy is suing Brennan is bullshit, but it's also funny as fuck in a "be careful what you wish for" type sense. Free speech have some common sense principles, (don't yell fire in a crowded theater type shit). What's amusing about the lawsuit is that it's purely punitive in time etc hassle. The lawsuit was is frivolous and only meant to make a point. When you actively look to curtail the speech of others this is the kind of shit it leads to.
