Fuck your "sacred land". I will say it would have been cool if they'd let someone in to transplant the saguaros, especially any really old ones, as they are in high demand and can fetch a big price, but I'm not too broken up about it.

Good point. I'm sure people would have volunteered to come get them.

They can get up to 150+ years old. It's a big deal if regular people cut them down in AZ, a class 4 felony. I fell in love with the desert landscape when I moved to AZ. Taking a motorcycle ride through Saguaro National Park not long after I moved here was a real treat.

Sounds awesome. I haven't had a chance to get down there yet.

Sweet!

Environmental advocates, elected officials and Tohono O’odham Nation leaders have raised concerns about the project, including the destruction of saguaros, the use of water from an underground aquifer, the potential impact on migrating animals and the destruction of land consider scared by some Native Americans.

Sorry! We can't let these minor concerns stand in the way.

"...and the destruction of land consider scared by some Native Americans.:

What the hell is the land scared of?

It should be scared of Mexicans crossing into Merica!

Yeah, nature hates those slobs!

I never knew where our border ended until they put the fence up.
