Cops are already protected well beyond any reasonable standard. They are trained to lie, cheat, rob, escalate violence, and kidnap. Defending yourself against illegal arrest (i.e. kidnapping) and grievous bodily injury is already a 'felony' by statute (if not by common law), and now the game is to make it illegal to give some cheek? This is the only current possibility of legal dissent.
