If it wasn't for the determined success of SpaceX and their reusable rocket parts, the over-payments would go on forever. Maybe Blue Origin and others will eventually be competitive. For now, I like what SpaceX has done and the intelligent way they determine root causes of failures and fix them quickly.

Blue Origin ran successful tests back in May. Their rocket is designed to be reused. They're not yet up to SpaceX level. That could happen in the next year or two.
