Good. Apple has decent hardware. Controlling information is not their business.
They always seemed overpriced and too proprietary to me.
They are by far the most valuable computers I’ve ever used. See my last comment for details
I'm glad those computers have been reliable for you, but as far as value goes, PC components are less expensive for equal performance.
Maybe before they outsourced their production to china, now not so much more quality than any other brand. Also I love how they hire companies that abuse all labor laws like not paying overtime while requiring 60 hr/ wk or other things.
Descent hardware?
My 3 times faster, 2.5 times cheaper hackintosh would like to have a talk with you.
crApple is all about slim and flat designs that are inevitably adding hardware limitations (battery, throttled cpu/gpu) and locking their customers with Tx chips to prevent easy repair when the warranty has expired.
$1000 display stand, lol.
Fuck em.
My main computers are a macbook pro from 2011 and a mini from 2012. Thousands of hours of rendering and complex math modeling, plus daily productivity. No other computer systems that I have ever owned or used has come close in value for investment.
I'm talking about performance per $.
That's the whole point of a computer you use for work.
Thousands of hours of rendering and complex math modeling
No offence but, professionals don't use computers (mac mini with a mobile gpu lol and 2011 mbp series with defective overheating gpu) crippled by their elitist design to render intensive tasks.
I'm sure your "Thousands of hours of rendering" would have taken only hundreds of hours with a dedicated OpenCL box for the same if not cheaper price.
But they are controlling information. Their decision will serve as a warning to other creatives that if they want to have any commercial success, they'd better tow the line with China.
