my oaks haven't started yet, i think up north peak will be soon. Neighbor has a few smaller trees that are yellow, not sure what they are tho... maple or aspen idk.

Even though you're farther north, I suspect altitude is a main reason CO is earlier. I'm south Great Plains and a few leaves are just starting to fall. Heck I'm still in the upper 80's to 90 most days but a cool front is due in a week and will drop it to mid 70's daytime. Fall is my favorite season as I prefer the colder weather and winter.

i think that be right, thinner air maybe... I have some leaves on my lawn... usually around mid october it they peak here before halloween. northern MN is usually 4 weeks early in fall and 4 weeks late in spring compared to me weather wise.

MN is so goofy tempwise. like now, wont pass 70 for a few days, then BAM 81 degree, next days... wont pass 60 degrees... you just dont try to understand it. Its why are roads are utter crap. Same thing will happen in winter too, you'll get a winter thaw then next day it be like -20

I love fall here too, and spring you can have the windows open fresh air. Summer here can get muggy as hell tho. and winter aint so bad, get trapped in the house because of the cold.

I remember you guys got some serious snow last winter. We had some but we got cold it hit friggen -30F actual temp one night. lol, that night i decided to test my "extreme" cold weather bibs and jacket while piss drunk. Got up to walking trail here, but I turned around cause i realized i could fucking die. heh

I'm in Oklahoma, we don't get shit for snow usually. Used to when I was a kid but not for decades. I usually get maybe 2 days of 1 - 2 inches at best all winter. Lows usually only go down to upper teens, but sometimes to 10's for a couple days. But we can have 60 -70 in Dec for a day or 2.

These pics of CO I've been posting the last couple weeks are from my daughter and hubby. They take like month long wonderlusts a few times a year and this time is back to CO as it's one of our favorite places. They have a F250 and trailer and go to campgrounds or wherever and just chill in one place for a few days and then move on. The last trip they went through the SW out to the crazy coast and up to Yosemite and redwoods.

She's a botanist and loves to see all the flora. She can tell you just about any plant or flower by looking at them. I'm envious and glad she is able to do so. Living the life.
