They'll never bring it back, but DDT could kill them pretty well

Came to say same. Bust out the DDT. I swear I remember seeing an old popular science article on how to make your own.

The article claims that they're immune to DDT and that it wouldn't work, but I call bullshit. DDT is widely regarded as the best pesticide that humanity has discovered so far.

Interesting. I recall it was very good against bed bugs and the reason we don’t have them anymore. Or didn’t anyway, as I recall an article five or so years ago where they were making a comeback due to both immigration and in some cases returning soldiers.

How I got rid of the bedbugs that came with my house.

1) Wash all sheets and curtains. 2) Slowly Steam the entire mattress, bed frame, baseboard/crown molding, window trim and curtains. Also pet beds/sleeping locations. 3) Vacuum steamed areas using a bagged hepa vacuum. Throw bag away outside immediately after completion. 4) Apply crossfire to mattress seams, bed frame and furniture in a four foot radius of the bed.

Bonus consider adding permethryn to curtains and sheets during wash cycle. Also, after traveling wash clothes immediately and steam luggage.

“Hey Google, will hydrogen cyanide kill bedbugs?“ …reads for two minutes… “Hey Google, is hydrogen cyanide still manufactured today?“ … reads for two minutes… “Hey Google, WE HAVE TO GO BACK.“
