It's a good sport and I enjoy it as well. There's just easier ways to catch fish if you just want fish.

I've never done ice fishing. Some places I've lived it's been all the rage. Personally I can find better ways to freeze to death. But those who do it a lot setup whole little huts and such on the ice and sit around drinking beer and watching football. It's more a social thing for many than an actually fishing thing.
