LOL I looked to find a nature sub - and there was none.

This is how I keep ending up with new subs. I feel I should make it clear that I'm absolutely not trying to take all the good subs, it's just none of you folks have taken the time to make 'em before I got to them.

Again, if y'all want to moderate this sub (or take ownership if such is possible) then let me know by submitting content.

I don't actually want all these subs - I just need places to put the things I'm interested in. So, you now have s/Nature.

There's a cars but no trucks.

There's no automobile.

There's no 'Buddhism' but I'd probably be better suited to starting that myself.

I'll try to get a bit of a list going later, after I've seen the other list. That way I don't duplicate work.

Ideas4Poal is another we could likely use. I made an astronomy this morning as a subcategory for space (should have made it cosmology maybe on second thought). I made an archeology the other day ... when I realized we didn't even have a history. The list goes on and on - LOL. But we're small, life goes on.

For some odd reason, someone once made a bunch of accusations that I was here to take over Poal and to control it. That I was SBBH and a bunch of strange accusations. (I am a SBBH mod on Voat but we don't actually coordinate anything - and trying to do so would be like trying to herd cats - but people think we're all sorts of things we don't seem to actually be.)

So, it's just really bad optics for me to keep generating subs. They really believe I'm trying to take over the site. They went on a raging downvote campaign and started a bunch of drama. I'm still not entirely sure why - except I was not nice to them when they approached me with what was mostly gibberish to me. (I eventually figured out who they were and it's a long story and needless drama.)

I am here only because I like PMYB2 and because I want to help him get his site started and off the ground. I have free time and I like free speech. If Voat goes down, I'm actually already set up to run with https://playguitar.gqand https://forum.playguitar.gq- so the guitar goats will just head there. I've no expectation of moving the guitar goats here. We'll just have our guitar threads over there.

I'm literally just here to help get the site started. I'm not even sure I'll have time available to keep going with it.

So, it's both really, really bad optics AND I can't be really certain that I'm going to be able to keep these subs active.

I don't actually want all these subs as an owner or moderator. I do want them to exist because they're things I have an interest in. I want them to exist because they're places to put content. Frankly, I'd much prefer other people own 'em.

At the same time, the ones that I've created - I'd love to have help and I'm happy to transfer ownership BUT I think that should only go to people who have a history (even a small history) of adding content. Even just adding comments is fine, it's a pretty low bar!

I hope that pile of gibberish makes some sense.

I confess, I've smoked a wee bit o' weed this morning. I went and helped on the farm for a few hours and had a few 'safety meetings' with the crew.

LOL - on the SBBH shit ... we operate on sites dominated by those with conspiratorial delusions, so it's to be expected. I generally have no interest in those dramas and stand clear. But that's me.

On Voat ... the 'days of darkness' were the knockout blow for me. I'd already been slowly migrating to Phuks for a few months previously, seeing the steady decline there. That did it. Enough was enough. I wasted two plus years helping to bring good content and fighting spam, etc, etc. Then when it was obvious that Putt didn't give a rats ass and good users started peeling away, I just completely had it. I post exclusively to Phuks and here now. I want to see both succeed, good people at both. Voat, I still have my account, but have not posted or commented for a month now. I simply swing by once and awhile to see how it's doing. And as projected, it appears in a deep dive.
