That is awesome!

Is this normal flow for that part of the river, or was there a lot of rain upstream earlier?

its generally normal the whole way thru that area its pretty agressive, not sure why... elevation drop my guess before it hits Lake Superior is my guess.

you wouldn't want to slip that's for sure

It's very impressive. The power of water is tremendous.

if you look there that roughly where it was at. it looks low tho, if you upstream you can see where the dam is. it all flows on bed rock

if you close, you'll see a suspension bridge that goes across, here is a video looking downstream. you can see the concrete/stone support pillar that holds the north end of it.

the water is red because there is so much iron up there.

BONUS FOOTAGE!!! like omg :-p

Very cool!

So you're near the Superior Hiking Trail, I'd love to get up there and backpack that.

that is much farther north, like a few more hours north if i were to guess, i pretty sure it north of Two Harbors. I've been on section of it tho. You have to way more carefull and in shape and know what you doing as you further north, one could get lost. Its a crazy trail system, and could end up in the middle of nowhere.

they have signage in most areas pointing you with mileage - directions to where etc, not sure about the more remote areas tho
