So, long boring story... My dad was a drunk construction dude. He got a job with a local (North Carolina, 80s) guy who offered to teach Russian. Odd, but hey wtf So, at the age of like 7. I learned Russian. I was able to do the basic stuff within a few months. The guy was so much cooler than my dad and had me make my own comic book. So I would draw stuff and he'd teach me the Russian for it. I will never forget trying to take our letters and matching them up to Russian and him explaining to me what cryptography was because it was what I was trying to do! I learned to make amazing food because when I did good he taught me a recipe. I was just a kid. It was the only thing my dad ever did that was good for me and it was a weird fluke. I learned some other stuff from jews (another crazy story), but man the Russian guy...I still remember the gazebo and being able to speak basic Russian. Not anymore, I'm too old.
