Been listening to WAY more old tunes and especially watching videos of old bands perform lately. Think I've figured out why...
Solid gold oldies, of the 50's, the 60's, 70's... That's old people music, enjoyed by my parent's generation. Old music for old people. Looking at these bands now as I approach middle age, I notice something "strange" about these bands. They are all younger than I am now. I'M the "old" fucker now. And watching these "kids" (21 years old is a kid to me now) play the oldies on TV shows that ended decades before I was born gives me this weird feeling. Not saying I don't enjoy the tunes, I really do. It's just I think it's not helping my impending midlife crisis any.
