Then there is just straight music videos that are interesting on their own, without the gimmick of Some are done more as art than anything.
I'd probably say my favourite music video is Michael Jackson's Thriller, overdone and pretentious as it came seem for some it told a story, was entertaining, had great production value and has become iconic enough to become an inescapable part of pop culture, to the point where I have seen kids watch the video for the first time and say, "hey they're doing the dance from Family Guy."
