My asparagus just starting growing back. Do they come back every year or should I put them in pots and keep them inside?
naw just throw them in the ground, sry just woke up from a nap
you need to wait to harvest them, not sure how old your crowns are. yes they come back every year. i would not pot asparagus as the root system is like a vine. they move each year
i had to wait like 3 years to harvest them (1 year crowns i bought) but once they established they are near indestructible. I've had them for 5 years now, i can harvest full season now.
i have mine in a trench around 10 inches deep, i have 60 plants... I end up giving most of away. I dont even have to cook it... its soooooo tender when fresh picked. anything store bought doesn't compare
sucks cause i have to go out and cut them down because of winter, its froze a few times already here. I gotta clean them up get more mulch etc. its important here to insulate them during our springs. i also need to fertilize them, they really become pets
