I wonder what percentage of producers do their own mixing and mastering at this point. I understand the benefits of sending your mix to a mastering engineer, in having a different set of ears/room/speakers; but the tools are available to get great results if you know what you’re doing.

Mastering is keeping your niggers busy and productive. It's important because niggers left unsupervised commit crimes and murder white people. If you take a look at Africa and Detroit, there is very little evidence of mastering or it is of low quality. Mastering is a full time 24/7 job. Not just anybody is qualified to do it.
