Now that's some smooth stuff right there. Great for a lazy Friday afternoon.

I heard it while I was stuck in traffic on the way home yesterday and found it perfect to ease what would have otherwise been a miserable point of the commute, but I was paying little attention to how sucky the traffic was, thanks to it. I was shocked to learn that it was Marsalis and Dylan, so I figured I must share, and I am glad that you liked it!

The title of the song is weird enough that I bet that was a Dylan suggestion. I wonder if it makes sense in context somehow. Like cry is the destination or something. Idunno, who cares, it's a cool song.

I'll bet you're right. I've always considered Dylan a poet more than a musician. His lyrics and storytelling are epic. I really like Tangled Up In Blue, you can mentally picture the whole song, so vivid. An how about My Back Pages:

My guard stood hard when abstract threats
Too noble to neglect
Deceived me into thinking
I had something to protect
Good and bad, I define these terms
Quite clear, no doubt, somehow

Who writes like that? Amazing.

Fuck yes, great point. There are few modern poets who could compare, but first in my mind as a contender would be .

I could be mistaken, but I always really liked this song, among others of his.
