I was a fan of theirs before this album, but it took me until just a few years ago to appreciate 90125. I gave it a listen when it came out, but it was too commercial for my taste.
Changes and It Can Happen, as it turns out, do have a lot of the complexity and nuance of their earlier works, but it's buried beneath the pop instrumentation and orchestra hits.
The a capella intro to Leave It is pretty cool too (love the sus on "make",) but the mtv non-stop rotation of all 17 video variations ruined it for me.
Our Song has a special place in my heart... Nosebleed seats at the Toledo Sports Arena, >100°, no ventilation, horrible sound, massive 4khz feedback during the keyboard solo in Roundabout... it was awful. It was nice(?) to find out this song was written because that specific concert sucked for them, too.
A great group, with a big impact on rock music.
