If this is for a stereo system (that's not intended for using with movies) you can use a device with a high fidelity and a high latency. Using for movies would likely cause the audio to lag about 7 frames behind the movie.
So, purely for music, I believe that you might want something using the Sony LDAC codec, as it has the most fidelity amongst Bluetooth codecs. I believe this codec is not fully implemented on iphones though, as they like to use the shitty AAC codec which is terrible for music IMHO. I'm pretty sure that LDAC is fully supported on most android phones that have a qualcom cpu and using at least Android 8 though. So, with all of that in mind, I believe this is the nicest bluetooth DAC currently on the market, and will fail back to the highest fidelity codec that your phone can support, even if it doesn't support LDAC:
