I was playing on the street solo for often 100-500 passing people per sitting. I've decided I want to switch over mainly to recording to practice playing in time with other instruments / players so I can practice getting to play in a band / jam scenario.
I was thinking about setting a street jam weekly meetup.
The first recording session I did was quite humbling lol however I got dramatically better just after a few hours of listening to how I sounded, deciding on what to improve and improving it.
I'm actually taking weekly lessons again with the focus on ear training, improv, jamming, transcription, solos and playing with others. So basically no sheet music.
I knew it was going to be torture but I'm quite impressed / pleased with the improvements. Some of the final ones I was actually jamming to.
I'm actually following a AI learning approach that I've done for other things in life with great success.... Basically you treat the problem as a machine learning problem and you as the machine learner, then you have to collect data / experiences and label them properly "good" / "bad", iterate over a detailed write down of the internal experience, conclude directions to go in to improve, actually attempt those improvement directions in the next iteration and your mind / self will auto improve.
