Symphony No. 3 in C minor, Op. 78 by Camille Saint-Saëns
Composed in 1886 for a commission on behalf of the Royal Philharmonic Society in England. The premiere at St James’s Hall in the same year was a success and the piece was performed in America the next year. The piece is comprised of two sections:
I. Adagio – Allegro moderato – Poco adagio II. Allegro moderato – Presto – Maestoso – Allegro
