Piano Sonata No. 1 in F minor, Op. 2, No. 1 by Ludwig van Beethoven
Beethoven composed this sonata for piano in 1795 at the age of 25. Beethoven was living in Vienna at the time and this example of a work from his ‘early’ period clearly shows the influence of Mozart, despite the composer having died four years earlier. Beethoven dedicated the work to his fellow composer, tutor and friend Joseph Haydn.
This sonata is comprised of four movements: I. Allegro II. Adagio III. Menuetto and Trio (Allegretto) IV. Prestissimo
