Piano Concerto No. 2 in D minor, Op. 40 by Felix Mendelssohn
Mendelssohn completed this concerto in 1837 with the premiere taking place the same year at the Birmingham Festival. The work took approximately 5 months for Mendelssohn to complete, possibly due to the intention for this work to leave a lasting positive impression on the English audience. II. Adagio. Molto sostenuto
