This song is soulful AND the instrumental is pretty hard rock for that era aside from something like Black Sabbath or Iron Butterfly. Chuck Negron (Half Puerto Rican/Half British) is the lead singer. Great pipes on this guy. He's still alive after doing a shitload of drugs in the 80's. Pretty sure he was a full-blown crackhead at one point. His cousin was Taylor Negron, a gay character actor who died a while back. He was really good as the hilarious Latino son-in-law in the Rodney Dangerfield vehicle Easy Money with a young Joe Pesci.
