I've been an EMT, Lifeguard, SCUBA Certified, Swift Water SAR. Swam, played Water Polo in school. Only an idiot jumps into moving water without gear and support. Doing so just adds work for the poor bastards doing recovery (the true R in SAR). Always wait for the nigger to go face down and still, then hook them with a pike pole from a boat or shore. Otherwise they will always grab at your face and drag you under with them. It's what they do, even when face down and still.

Drown proofing is exactly the same as 'Fire Proofing'. Fly that shit into the sun and tell me how it worked out for you :))
I understand.
It really only works in calm waters. But like a 2-hour rated wall in fireproofing, (I got into construction after the service) it can be very effective given the right circumstances.
