So I've been plugging away at aeolian and mixolydian and the strangest thing I noticed. E aeolian for example has the exact same notes as G major. I know you already know that. So here I am memorizing the pattern for aeolian when I already know the major scale and suddenly I forgot why the hell I'm doing this.

Ok I did the whole thing where I assumed you were a pianist 😵 I assume the modes of the scales are more useful in guitar? Or are you practicing them as a way to get your dexterity and precision up?

Yes. After learning my pentatonic scales I got bored so I went to the next thing to add flavor and get down all the positions. That's when i had my epiphany.
