I read somewhere that the music you listen to up until you're 32 (somewhere in that ballpark?) will be what you listen to for the rest of your life, and that you'll be less likely to branch out and enjoy new music after that point.

good thing i'd kept it fairly diverse to that point. the guy in the video agrees with you. but he's worried he won't enjoy it as much if his hearing deteriorates with age.

As a music nut with gramophones, my musical preferences go back to 1907, as do my disc and wax cylinder music. But my musical tastes totally ended at 1990 music. I can see where you’re coming from, I mean it’s all about taste. Have you listened to Anne Dudley’s ancient and modern? Great record. And Zbigniew Preisner’s requiem for a friend? My God, for a man that loves dissonance he sure composed a beautiful mass.
