They’re utilizing a V-ii-V-ii-I-I chord progression (key of G) throughout the whole song which gets quite dull to listen to for more than a minute without changing it up. Overall the subject matter is better than most of the genres current offerings, and the production is high quality; but the song overall is a bit flat. The chorus isn’t that catchy, and there is no big melody to hook the listener. I prefer his song “Kick, Push” over this.
Thanks for the input. I just really like the message.
