You're quite welcome. My reward was the GI Bill and access to the VA hospital system. Though, truth be told, I hardly ever use the VA. It's not that they're terrible (I've actually had good experiences with them), it's just that they're more distant than I would like to travel and I'm usually in pretty good health.

Did you serve?

No I did not. I'm 20 years old and inelgible to serve due to health problems. I have family that's served going back to the Civil War and possibly the American Revolution (have to check further on Ancestry records)

There are other ways to serve, if you're interested. You can (assuming you've gotten an education or can fill a role) do a few years as a civil servant. There's plenty of ways. Even spending a few years working for the DOT is service.

You'll make less money than you would in the private sector, but the benefits are pretty good. Depending on where you live, you can even run for office and maybe serve that way? The options are there, if you're interested.

I'm planning on being a lawyer. Does that count? lol

I'd like to eventually volunteer for campaigns. I don't know if I'd run for anything besides the school board
