I can't express my gratitude nearly enough. Nearly 130 years later I get to have a connection with my great grandfather, I only wish my father was still alive to hear it. My children, and theirs, will treasure it though. It is indeed a delightful tune and I only wish I had the complete work. This is from a tin printing plate that has hung framed in my house from before I was born and had always wondered what it sounded like. My search and desire is now complete, thank you so much, I am forever grateful.
BTW, his last name was Hager. I know my scan of the plate was hard to read.
I am overjoyed to hear that :)
It was motivating to work on, as I too was curious what it sounded like.
God bless my man
Edit: fixed the title, "Hager" > "Hageb"
