Okay, I get it now. Though it only goes one level back. Jeez aren't I fussy.
Also if I'm looking at my Comment Replies, say, then there is no permalink button. Not the end of the world but it is something that I'd use.
I mean if you wanted to see the entire comment section wouldn't you just click comments at the top?
Of course, and that's what I do. However if the thread is long then you have search for the comment. Again it's not the end of the world.
What I'm suggesting is just a convenience for the user. Though many other sites do it this way, Reddit -- I know, hush my fool mouth -- for instance: Selecting to view the parent displays a lot if not all of the preceding replies. As well when I look at my messages by way of my account a "Context" button is available which displays the complete reply chain.
Hmm I think we would need a new button for that. Not at the top of my priority list at the moment but I'll keep it in mind. Maybe the last 10 replies or something I don't know. I'll hash it out later.
