Actually I did. ssd is great for os, but cost to much if backing up tb's.
yeah i wouldn't throw songs on a ssd,
cost, you can get my drive for under 100 USD now pm me if ya want to know. other wise my drives are all WD blues
With the cost of NVMe SSDs, good multi-core CPUs, and RAM, all at good prices; I've taken to recommending people build new PCs again. Current generation machines that have the capacity to accept the new standards.
The 26 TB RAID6 I mentioned is part of that project. The entire family-cloud setup should cost about $4k (the drives are HDD, but good quality)
Yeah but.... I will never upgrade from 7, shit I loved xp. And cloud? fuck you got a smart house huh? Not for me.
Smart house? No, never. I won't allow that. But I can build a good media server for up to 4K resolution on one screen, with a high-capacity storage VM running in the background.
I held out as long as I could on Win 7. It was my favorite. XP was excellent. Win98SP2 was the shit.
But to get gains like this I had to get into the current generation.
Linux. OpenBSD. Something besides Pajeet OS.
