It's a feature!
Ran into ol’ man Chilton Thanksgiving weekend one year down on the Border below Arivaca AZ at the bottom of California Gulch Road. Tim Foley of Arizona Border Recon and a few of his guys dropped by camp every day to ask if we had seen any activity. It’s a hot spot for drug smuggling.
Where we’d always camp is right across a big wash from a 10th Cav Cemetery. Story is they died of the Spanish Flu. More than a dozen graves. Some look ransacked. It can be seen here:

Follow the wash down to the border and you can see the staging area on the Mexican side. Haven’t been down there since the buddy I’d go down there with died a couple years back. I see in the latest Google Earth that the wall is there now. In the shot it gave I see that it stopped just east of the staging area. It’s rough country with lots of mountains for spotters to guide the drug mules through. Sounds like the wall hasn’t slowed anything down.
Boomer doesn't realize he's already dead
There are reasons why this is being allowed to happen at the border. I don't know what these reasons are but I am sure that it is not good for any of us...
