Similar story happened in my neck of the woods back in the 90s with a family from Bosnia-Herzegovina-Serbia-Onomonopia fleeing the shit show that was the freshly ethnically cleansed and US bombed out Balkans. Made it all the way to Texas. Teenage son signed up for school, standing at a bus stop and gunned down by some of the local feral pavement apes.
