Doesn't math much

Take this thinking a few steps further:

  • Young children (<13) are very rarely murderers. (Of any race.)
  • Old people are are very rarely murderers. (Of any race.)
  • Women are far less likely to commit murder than men. (Of any race.)

Therefore, it follows (with a bit of math...):

~3% of the population commits ~50% of the murders. That being black males between the ages of 13 and 30.

If we were willing to focus 90% of our policing on ~10M people (black males between 15-30) we would solve the vast majority of our crime problems.

But, I guess that's just a bit too racist. Go figure.

Funny: 800K police officers in the US + 1.5M military in the US. Subtract the black officers leaves (guess) = ~2M. Let's assign 1.5M of those to watch black dudes and the remaining 0.5 to watch everyone else.

Therefore: really, we could solve most of our crime problems if every police officer + military member was assigned to keep tabs on 7 black dudes.
