I'm sure one of the victim's relatives will want the same leniency when they get sentenced for taking care of this guy when he gets out.

At one time, not so long ago, Western countries executed murders. This was considered inhumane by liberals, so we largely stopped. Now we let murderers back onto the streets, so that they can kill again. This is considered enlightened by liberals.
