About 5 or so years ago, a cop was killed in a small, eastern TX town. I was living in a town near Austin and my neighbor was a cop, and black. He was chosen to go to the funeral as a representative of his town. He told me that after the funeral a few other black cops (all in uniform) gathered and were introducing themselves and the Sheriff came over to them. They thought he was going to introduce himself, but he said "the funeral is over, you BOYS need to leave town now".
