Lol, I was born West Coast, spent a lot of time growing up in the sanoran desert though. It was pretty country out there.
Moved out to the East Coast where I made a bunch of southern friends and I picked up the accent. Some southerners teased me about my well spoken West Coast accent, some southerners told me to "keep my west Coast values in the westcoast, we dont want none of that here" just upon hearing my voice which was amusing more than anything else. But now sometimes for fun or on accident I'll start speaking with with that accent. Not a huge fan of country music but it's fun to sing with a Southern accent, actually blows people's minds in the westcoast. Moved back to the West just before the pandemic.
Ah. Well you speak like a Southerner. You would blend in easily.
