Even Jackie Chan, who the script was initially written for as the main character, turned it down. So they had to rewrite the script for a female character (Michelle Yeoh).

Where did I say it was a good thing? I just said at least they scripted that it was a knock on effect from her soul being destroyed by the evil character.

That's it.

Would it have been a better film without it? yes

Did it ruin the rest of the film, including fat shaming and calling the jew "woman with the big nose"? no
