Agreed!
As bad as Suicide Squad was Robbie's Harley Quinn was as absolute delight to watch and I was looking forward to more of her in BOP. You can imagine my surprise and disappointment when even a great character and characterization can be ruined in just a couple scenes by terrible writing and worse editing. The person I saw it with is familiar with Harley and BOP from the comics -- I'm not -- and he was more inclined to give the movie points for checking various boxes. But not me. Never was I even the least bit invested in any of the characters -- and that goes times a million for the terrible casting choice for the child role -- and so the movie was boring and tedious. The set pieces felt strangely lethargic despite all of the frantic and mostly nonsensical action -- I'm guessing the director was new to fight scenes -- and the final big battle was just plain annoying. The story was told and re-told through various flash backs and as a result lacked any sort of punch. None of the motivations felt particularly necessary or driving, nor was there any consistency.
I only go to see a movie in the theater a couple times a year and I am sorry I wasted one of those on BOP.
