As a huge sci-fi and Star Wars fan, WTF was even the point of this trilogy? I don't see how it adds to the Skywalker story or even how it sets up new characters for upcoming stories. In fact even the new actors are glad this pile of crap is ending. You can see that from Daisy Ridley and John Boyega especially. It is clear they had no overreaching plan for this trilogy, no matter how much they insist they did. TFA was fine as a soft reboot even though that film had many problems. At least it had some interesting hooks and made people want to see the story continue. Then Rian Johnson totally shit all over everything. Not only did he destroy any continuity with the first film. His film had tone, pacing, and plot issues. Finally in TROS JJ tried to fixed everything that Johnson blew up and he also shit all over Star Wars lore. Red Letter Media has a good review of the film and I echo many of their thoughts. At least the Mandilorian is decent and the new Clone Wars coming out should be good too. They should have let Dave Filoni be in charge of the trilogy with George Lucas' input at least being considered.
